Optometrist/eye doctor reviews
Howdy folks! Hope y'all had an awesome Halloween.

Here's the deal. Boyfriend just got insurance through his work, and he need to get into an eye doctor for a new 'scrip, glasses, and contacts before the end of the year. He was given a list of eye doctors who are "preferred vision providers" for his plan; Site for Sore Eyes, where he has previously gone, is not on this list.

So, I need some quick and dirty reviews of some eye doctors. Their names:
Paul M. Domanchuk
Paul R. King
Kenneth L. Kaiser
Douglas H. Lanning
Daniel J. Ryan
Zuzana R. Gellner
Brain D. Calvert
Martin E. Turkis
Linda W. Azevedo
Loren M. Azevedo
Lori A. Macfarlane
Phillip K. Ruprecht
Alan E. French
Brian D. Calver

*phew* If any of these people have helped you with your eyes in the past, can you please tell me what you thought? Super great, mediocre, horrible?

Thanks Humboldt.

Hi everyone!

I am planning to take the bus from 4th and R in Eureka to CR a couple of days a week. I was wondering how reliable the bus schedule is, since it seems to only run once an hour the time I would need to catch the bus. I don't want to miss it and be late, but I also don't want to have to get to the stop ridiculously early. I live about 2 miles down Myrtle, and plan to walk to the RTS bus stop, so I don't have to worry about taking two bus's just to get to school.

Thanks for your help!!

Gekkeikan Plum Wine
Folks, I am jonesing. And bad. Wildberries in Arcata no longer carries Gekkeikan plum wine, and I'm not quite desperate enough to order it from a shady online dealer. Does anyone know where I can procure this delicious beverage in Humboldt? Much appreciated! :D

Hey Humboldtians, I need a bit of help.  I need to see both a doctor and a dentist.  The first is for possible diagnosis of Psoriasis and Carpal Tunnel Syndrom, the second for cleaning and (probably) cavity filling.  Do you have any good experiences with doctors and dentists in the Humboldt area?  Alternately, are there any I should stay away from, and why?

City council race
Hi everyone!  Just thought I'd get out the word that according to the city clerk of Eureka, Kathleen Franco Simmons, the city council seats are non partisan seats.  Think about that the next time you go to vote at the polls or by absentee.

Halloween events?
Anyone know of any fun Halloween events going on in the area? Last year there was a masquerade ball that sounded like fun and I was hoping there might be something like that going on again this year.

turn about is fair play
so, last week a user here posted how her cat had gone missing. she left a very detailed description and picture and everything. i made a very snide comment about eating said cat. well, karma is a bitch. because last night my new kitten went missing. i am very sad about this and spent all of last night and most of today looking for him. unfortunately i live in eureka near the bay so finding my kitty is no easy task.

but i am a complete and utter unrepentant bastard and i stand by what i said before. i miss my kitty. but yours was delicious.
